Carrickabraghy Castle, one of the iconic sites of the historic Inishowen peninsula, was in ruins and in imminent danger of collapse.

The Carrickabraghy Restoration Society, formed in 2010, received a substantial grant from Inishowen Development Partnership under the National Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 (LEADER), and this was augmented by local fundraising events and generous donations from supporters at home and abroad.

Funding will still be required and all contributions, no matter how small, will go towards the maintenance and further archaeological work on this important historical site.
